Dr. Marty Makary on the Problem of Medical Malpractice
Marty Makary, MD, MPH is a surgeon at Johns Hopkins Hospital and an Associate Professor of Health Policy at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health. Dr. Makary joins us to discuss the problem of Medical Malpractice.
Dr. Makary led the effort of the World Health Organization (WHO) to measure hospital complications and was the first to publish studies on the use of a checklist in surgery. He is the author of Unaccountable: What Hospitals Won’t Tell You and How Transparency Can Revolutionize Healthcare.
