California Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom Fires Back Over Gov. Rick Perry’s Efforts to Lure CA Businesses to Texas
Newsom tells Co-Anchors Lori Lundin and Chris Salcedo that Texas is “Casing Our Joint 24-7”

Washington, D.C. – America’s Radio News Network interviewed California Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom, who as Mayor of San Francisco in 2004 gained national attention when he directed the San Francisco city-county clerk to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples in violation of state law.

His new book, “Citizenville: How to Take the Town Square Digital and Reinvent Government,” discusses how Americans can transform their government and dissolve political gridlock as they produce tangible changes in the real world. Newsom contends that twenty-first-century problems are too big and too expensive for the government simply to buy solutions and lays the foundation for a modern digital government.

While responding to recent efforts by Texas Governor and former Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry to lure California businesses to Texas, Newsom said, “I want to just give hats off to the efforts from Texas. They have two Chamber of Commerce offices in the State of California…They’re casing our joint 24-7. They’re out here on what they call hunting trips, hunting for jobs in California. So I don’t take it lightly.”

Perry is on a four-day trip to California this week, attempting to lure Golden State businesses to set up shop in Texas.

Newsom continued the interview, addressing same-sex marriage, taxes, and other topics of the day.
